History
BILEN was founded in 1954 as an exhaust parts replacement and repair workshop. In later years the company started supplying to Turkish automotive manufacturers, such as Military Jeep Factory in 1965, Chrysler and Skoda truck factories in 1967, and TOFAŞ factory in 1970. The company moved to a larger plant due to increasing demand from customers, and incorporated in 1979. In the following decade due to rapid growth in Turkish Automotive, Bilen expanded at the same rate and started producing at en even larger building in 1988, at Istanbul Dudullu Industrial Zone.
The organization continued to grow in the 1990s and 2000s, and became the main exhaust systems supplier for major OEMs producing tractors, construction machines and power generators. During the same years Bilen has become a global player in its own business segment due to increasing exports.
In the 2000s, R & D department has been started due to customer demands and reqirements. This has brought exhaust system design capability to the company, and new investments for testing devices. Today Bilen has become a major company in its special business, and can give a complete support to the OE customer.
In time, the plant in Istanbul was no longer sufficient for the company, so a decision for a new investment was made. The company moved again in 2014, to a new and modern plant in Duzce, halfway between İstanbul and Ankara.
Today Bilen is a major manufacturer of exhaust systems, emission control systems and specific bent tubes. Due to cooperations and joint studies with engine producers, the technical team's know-how and technical abilities have also increased in the area of aftertreatment systems. Bilen also designs and manufactures machines related to its own business segment.
